We both got our T-6 Dollar Rides this month!! (First ride in a specific airplane)


It is a military tradition to call a student's first ride in an airplane a Dollar Ride. The reason for this is because we are pretty much useless and the instructor is more like a taxi driver than an instructor on the first ride; therefore we owe them a dollar. I was lucky enough to see Jen takeoff on her dollar ride that is shown in the first picture. My dollar ride was a last second deal where I picked up an airplane from a different airport, so no one was there to take pictures. However, I did get a nice picture of the view from the cockpit and a selfie:)


We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family a week early this year and it was great! All my brothers and their significant others were able to make it and this was the first time this has happened in my family for a while. After we all ate we went around the table to mention some things that we were thankful for. Some people shed tears, others told jokes, and without exaggerating I can honestly say that was one of my favorite moments in my life so far. There is something about family that drive us all crazy and mine is no exception. However, at the end of the day I love my family to death and consider myself extremely blessed to have such an awesome family!


Of course, I am thankful for this crazy lady ^ too!

Thanksgiving weekend, we had a four day weekend, so Jen and I decided to just spend that time with just us two and Jolene (our van). We took Jolene out to Oak Mountain, Alabama to mountain bike. Those trails were amazing and we were able to film some spots as well and some other things we did that weekend. We also reminisced on some memories that we have from living in the van last summer and how much we missed that simple life. But we would not change where we are today, and I still cannot believe that we are getting paid to learn how to fly airplanes. Anyways, Jen made a great video from our Thanksgiving weekend trip to Alabama. Check it out!
